Are you interested in helping the Central Coast Green Building Council (CCGBC) continue the transformation of the Central Coast into a sustainable community, economy, and environment? We are recruiting professionals to join the CCGBC and grow our programs while improving our ability to teach about and advocate for sustainable development in the California Central Coast.
We are the go-to resource on the Tri-County that: supports sustainable building efforts, advocates for green building codes and policies, curates trainings and events for the green workforce, supports the next generation of sustainability leaders, celebrates top-notch projects and individuals pushing the limits of sustainability, cultivates an expansive, vibrant, and active green building community, and prepares students and those in a career transition with the skills necessary to transition into a career path in building sustainability.
As a collective, the CCGBC board supports each other in creating healthier, environmentally conscious buildings and communities. We enthusiastically welcome people of any race, gender, orientation, religion, ethnicity, physical ability, economic status, and political preference to apply. CCGBC Board Members should be based in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura counties, as these are the three regions that our local USGBC Chapter covers.
Please fill out the application by 5 PM January 131, 2025 to be considered as a new board member for a two-year term. We will be reviewing applications at our February 2025 board meeting. Thousands of dollars in Homeowner Incentives Are Back for the New Year!
Homeowners in the Tri-County region can receive thousands of dollars in incentives and rebates for home electrification upgrades! 3C-REN, the Tri-County Regional Energy Network, has announced their incentive re-launch for the new year.
Why do an electrification project now?
3C-REN incentives just re-opened for $500 to $6,000
Customers who qualify for equity-incentives receive thousands more
Heat pump projects can qualify for additional local, state, and federal rebates as high as $8,000
Local contractors are enrolling in 3C-REN and TECH Clean CA incentive programs to bring this money to their customers before it runs out! To learn more, visit 3C-REN.org/for-residents.
This year, we’re excited to move from unification to implementation, focusing our efforts on making a real difference statewide. Our Green Schools program will focus on improving indoor air quality and education for kids across California, while our Green Homes program continues to enhance resident health and lower utility costs. Our CalBPS Building Performance Hub will help drive building performance policy while providing resources to support compliance and project development. We’re also launching new certificate programs covering topics like: waste management, nature-based solutions, electrification, water conservation, and more while beginning to leverage our California Training Network.

Small Off-Road Engine - will require new lawn mowers, leaf blowers, generators, and other small equipment sold in California to be zero-emission Transport Refrigeration Unit - phases out the oldest and dirtiest diesel-fueled TRUs Commercial Harbor Craft - mandates zero-emission and cleaner engine upgrades for tugboats, ferries, and other vessels Advanced Clean Car II - will rapidly scale down light-duty passenger car, pickup truck and SUV emissions In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets - reduces diesel and NOx emissions from vehicles like forklifts, bulldozers, cranes and excavators In-Use Locomotive - reduces emissions and phases in zero-emission passenger and freight trains Advanced Clean Fleet - phases in the use of zero-emission trucks and requires that only zero-emission trucks will be manufactured in California
The City of San Luis Obispo Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is preparing to release the application for the 2025-26 Human Services Grant. For additional details please see below:

Application Opens: January 20th, 2025 at 8:00am
Application Closes: Feb. 28th, 2025 at 5:00pm
Main Funding Priority: Homelessness prevention including affordable, alternative, transitional housing, and supportive services. (Note: The Human Relations Commission will first fund all qualified applications that meet the main funding priority. After qualified main priority applications are funded, the HRC will consider applications for the secondary funding priorities.)
Total funding available: $150,000

This free course consists of six self-guided, interactive modules that allow participants to enter and exit the program on their own schedule. The course takes approximately three hours to complete, after which participants receive a personalized certificate of completion.

Central Coast Sustainable Groundwater Management Act Farmer Gathering
Are you interested in learning about water conservation grant opportunities and upcoming changes to groundwater policy? Join the Central Coast Farmer Gathering to learn about the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and find out how to get funding to implement water conservation practices. The event will feature short presentations and breakout sessions on SGMA, and you’ll have the chance to network with regional technical advisors, local farmers, and community members.
