Green Apple Day of Service: Power Down Oceano

At Oceano Elementary School we will be doing what we always do, but with a 100% effort.  We have monthly Bike to School Days and Walk to School Days.  On September 27th we will combine the two events to achieve at least 60% of the students coming to school by a non-motorized mode of transportation.  We already have some of the lowest utility bills in our district, but on September 27th we will make every effort to reduce our electrical consumption by 20%.  For a school our size (450 students) we have an extremely small trash bin (1.5 yard bin).  On September 27th, we plan to make sure 100% of the recyclable and compostable material stays out of the trash bin.
