Green Schools "Mini Grant" Program
The Central Coast Green Building Council is seeking applications from K-12 schools in Santa Barbara County for our Green Schools Mini-Grant Program, funded by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation . This program exists to help schools fund projects that promote sustainability on their campus. Projects are to be carried out in the 2024-2025 school year and can receive up to $1,000 outright (this is not a refund-based grant). You can submit for multiple projects but each school can only be awarded for one project. Below are some suggested project ideas but we encourage you to submit projects that will best serve your school. Tree planting Garden installation/expansion Outdoor classroom development In-Classroom education Recycling program establishment & education Alternative transportation education/program development Educational Mural/Mosaic painting
Waste Audit + Pilot project to reduce waste
Water Audit + Pilot project to reduce water use
Energy Audit + Pilot project to reduce energy use In order to apply, surface the idea to you school’s administration for approval, and fill out this application by 2/29/24.
