Green Apple Day of Service: SBCC Tree Planting

  • 28 Sep 2013
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • SBCC Administration Building

This year’s Green Apple Day of Service event will include the planting of five (5) Cercis Canadensis (forest pansy) trees. As a member of the legume family, these trees have been specifically selected because they help to add ecology to our Campus in terms of nitrogen fixation. They are also red to match our school colors and have edible flowers and seeds. This event is the same day as the Day of Caring and is representative of SBCC’s initiative to develop a District Sustainability Plan which includes goals for implemeting a Campus Landscape Master Plan and becoming a Tree USA Campus.

Come support the local community and make a difference!

Green Apple Day of Service is a global movement giving teachers, students, companies, and local organizations the opportunity to transform all schools into healthy, safe, and product learning environments through local service projects.Continuing Education Units (CEU) available toward your LEED AP or LEED GA Accreditation.
