Things thrive when they are loved. Come to an interactive workshop
that will help us develop a more lovable community in San Luis Obispo.
Peter Kageyama, author of the internationally renowned book for THE
LOVE of CITIES, is coming to San Luis Obispo to share his insights on
community-building and why emotional engagement matters in a place.
Peter will explore how people connect with the community, and
how to maximize that connection and lead more people towards
being “in love” with SLO and ultimately doing something for our city.
Elemants of the workshop include:
»Overview of Lovable Cities
»Map of what you love about SLO – “Wall of Love”
»Messages and marks – designing the City’s t-shirt
» Love Notes – samples of what people love from around the world
» Empathy mapping of key demographics: young professionals, kids and retirees
» Developing local rituals & traditions
» Brainstorming the “$500 Dollar” project
