SLO Monthly Lecture Series: September Green Schools

This presentation is a two part presentation by local advocates of Green Schools!

Bobby Roark is a private contractor with Bobby Roark Electrical. He specializes in Solar, Commercial, Residential, Aircraft, and Lighting Design. One of his projects amongst his dynamic portfolio is with the County Office of Education where he installed a solar monitoring system to educate the community on energy consumption and renewable energy. Bobby cares deeply about the health of our youth. Previous to his work now, he was a physical fitness educator at a local high school.

Victoria Carranza is a Fellow with One Cool Earth, a non-profit dedicated to environmental stewardship. She specializes in systems change and program coordination with sustainability initiatives in the local schools for her livelihood and also as a volunteer with U.S. Green Building Council C4 as a Green Schools Co-Chair. Her most recent project at Georgia Brown Elementary School creating a composting system that will convert the school food waste into soil. She is a recent graduate from Cal Poly in the Natural Resources Management Department with a background in Environmental Planning.

Bobby and Victoria seek to engage private industries, government officials, parents, teachers, non-profits, and others alike in a dialogue that breeds hope for our schools. Come see how you can support projects happening around the county throughout the school year this Friday!
