The West Coast Natural Building Conference
Wednesday April 13-15th

This year our Spring West Coast Natural Building Conference includes a focus on fire and what we've learned about the survival of straw-built structures from recent wildfires that tore through large portions of the West Coast. We will also celebrate Women in Natural Building and include a Straw Bale 101 opportunity, as always.

The line-up of speakers, presenters, and topics is not to be missed! Along with the keynote address from Art Ludwig, the weekend will be chock full of presentations and discussions with leaders in the field: Catherine Wanek, Bruce King, Emily Niehaus, Martin Hammer, Leslie Jackson...and the list goes on. We will also have a viewing of the new documentary film "Dirt Rich" that includes a cameo by the late Rick Green - rice farmer and straw builder extraordinaire. We hope you'll join us in Cambria for the entire weekend, for what is sure to be a memorable event!

(PS - Don't forget about our Silent Auction!  We've been really thrilled with the support that attendees have given to this since we started it. If you have an item (or service) to donate, don't forget to bring it with you!)

Keynote Speaker - Art Ludwig

An ecological systems designer and author with 35 years experience in water, wastewater systems, energy, shelter and human powered transport, Art has been involved with several structures which survived recent wildfires in Santa Barbara and Ojai. He has much to share on the subject of fire-resistive construction.
