To advance the President's Climate Commitment, the CSULB Office of Sustainability and Center for Community Engagement are partnering to host the 2018 Resilience Charrette on Friday, March 2nd. This invitation-only event will bring together key campus, city, and community stakeholders for an exciting one-day event to identify and prioritize steps to reduce risk and enhance climate resilience across Long Beach

The goal of the 2018 Resilience Charrette is to advance comprehensive campus-community resilience planning and hazard mitigation efforts. This goal will be met through an active day-long process guided by the following objectives:

  1. Assess shared climate resilience goals
  2. Evaluate existing strengths and vulnerabilities to climate risks
  3. Develop and prioritize actions for the campus, city, local organizations, businesses, private citizens, neighborhoods, and community groups
  4. Identify immediate opportunities to advance actions that reduce the impact of hazards and increase climate resilience in Long Beach.

The resulting Resilience Assessment report will include a list of all participants and participating organizations and charrette participants will also be invited as members of the CSULB Campus-Community Climate Resilience and Adaptation Advisory Group.

Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Note that the event will be held in the Karl Anatol Center which is located on the 1st floor of the Academic Services Building (AS-119), in-between the Macintosh Humanities Building (MHB) and the University Library (LIB) on the south end of campus just off 7th Street.
