Cal Poly Appropriate Technology Projects

Since 2008, Pete Schwartz and Cal Poly students have explored the causes of poverty and innovated prototypes to address technical needs through a series of service learning group projects while reflecting on our own lives and need to change at home. One of their current projects is a design for an electric water heater integrated with a solar photovoltaic array, which you can see the provisional patent for by clicking here.
