UCSB: Building Energy Systems

  • 05 Jan 2015
  • 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • University of California Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, CA

Buildings consume almost 50% of the energy produced in the U.S. and 3 times more energy than cars do annually. This means that we in the building sector have a responsibility and a duty to build better, more efficient buildings. Engineers and scientists at UCSB are working on software modeling tools to enable designers to optimize their buildings and operations. This class will go over the basic physical contributions to comfort and energy in terms of sustainable design and will cover energy modeling software and how it can be used to optimize building designs and operations.

This course is open to UCSB and non-UCSB students.
